GE is keen to invest in India & in projects in to boost infrastructure in sectors such as Rail, Power & Healthcare. Over the last 5 years, GE has doubled its investment in India ranging from supplier development programs to large infrastructure projects & manufacturing facilities "India is a growth engine for Asia, and we see huge potential in the manufacturing space”- Jeff Immelt, Chairman & CEO, General Electric .GE is now also partnering with various states across India to form Public Private Partnerships (PPP). India may soon become a global centre of excellence for certain components. Levels of local sourcing have increased by 20% for Locomotives, 30% for power equipment and 15% for Aviation.
