Broadridge Initiates Wealth Lending Network Marketplace

Broadridge Financial Solutions initiates a Wealth Lending Network marketplace. The initiative is all about connecting wealth managers to banks and other financial service institutions. Being a global Fintech leader, Broadridge has created a well-managed marketplace. It will enable all sized wealth managers to offer clients securities-based Lending (SBL) services. It will be using Broadridge's end-to-end SBL technology platform. Bancorp, Inc. is also joining the hands of the marketplace as its inaugural funding partner through its subsidiary, The Bancorp Bank.

Upon this, Mike Alexander, President of Wealth Management, Broadridge mentioned the Wealth Lending Network is a motivating evolution of the new market's dynamic. It will connect the supply-and-demand sides on a trusted lending platform and create value for lenders, advisors, and their clients. The focus remains on building value-added services to make business easier and robust for clients. This marketplace opens up the SBL market to drive growth for clients. Funding, market access, credit risk management, technology, and sales enablement facilitated the process.

As the demand for SBL credit continues to grow, it is proving to be attractive to both borrowers. They are looking to access liquidity in their portfolios and lenders as a low-cost and low-risk credit offering.
For lenders, SBL offers a high-quality stream of revenue keeping a low-risk and a low cost of capital. The Broadridge Wealth Lending Network also extends current lending models. This will allow financial advisors and RIAs, independent broker-dealers to offer SBL to clients on a turnkey basis. In this way, advisors can grow deeper relationships with clients, safeguard existing AUM and attract new assets.

Jeff Hazelwood, Managing Director of Institutional Banking Solutions, The Bancorp also mentions Bancorp has shown extreme excitement to join Broadridge's Wealth Lending Network. It has been its initial funding partner and has tapped into this new channel built on Broadridge's market. The participation is ongoing to be a strategic investment in SBL market leadership.
